The Eastern Caribbean dollar (ISO 4217 code: XCD, symbol EC$) is the official shared currency of eight member states and territories of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS): Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Anguilla. It is issued by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), headquartered in Basseterre (Saint Kitts). Since 1976, the XCD has been pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 2.70 XCD per 1 USD, giving it great stability and closely linking the EUR/XCD rate to EUR/USD fluctuations.
