We accept CFP Pacific franc banknotes currently in circulation, issued by the Institut d'Émission d'Outre-Mer (IEOM). If you have any doubts about older notes, please call us on 01 43 54 76 87 before making the trip.

Is there a minimum amount to sell XPF?

No, there is no minimum amount. You can sell even a small quantity of banknotes. For large amounts, it is recommended to notify us in advance.

Is the XPF buy-back rate linked to the fixed EUR/XPF rate?

Accepted Answer

The interbank fixed rate is 1 EUR = 119.33274 XPF. Our retail buy-back rate is slightly less favourable to cover operating costs, but no additional commission is added. The displayed rate is the final rate.

Is ID required to sell CFP francs?

For amounts below €1,000, no ID is required. Above that threshold, a valid identity document is requested in accordance with AML/CFT regulations.

Are CFP francs from French Polynesia and New Caledonia the same?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The CFP Pacific franc is the same currency across all three collectivities (French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis-et-Futuna), although there are two separate issuing institutions (IEOM Polynesia and IEOM New Caledonia). The banknotes are interchangeable and all accepted by Paris Change.

Yes. Thanks to the CFP franc's fixed peg to the euro, your XPF banknotes will not lose value due to exchange rate fluctuations. If you are planning another trip to Polynesia or New Caledonia, you can safely keep your XPF.
